Chill: November 3

This week’s readings are based on the “Chill” sermon series. For this series, we are looking at God’s command to rest and the implications this has on our lives. Start resting with God by slowing down, reading the text, and then letting it read you.

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you. They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.
Psalm 145:8-13 (NIV)

How well we celebrate has a direct connection to how well we are resting with God. When we rest with God, it shifts the focus from ourselves to Him. When our focus is on Him, there is a lot to celebrate. And when celebrated this way, people will know of His mighty acts and glorious splendor and that He is trustworthy and faithful.

Remind yourself to rest in God. Celebrate His mighty acts in your life and share it with someone today.
