This week’s devotionals are from the “Passion of Jesus” series in Mark Moore’s Quest 52. This quarter we want to look at the preparation and suffering of Jesus’s sacrifice and the victory in the Resurrection. Slow down, read the text, and then let the text read you.
Meditate on these verses:
Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.
1 CORINTHIANS 6:16-19
What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
2 CORINTHIANS 6:16
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
EPHESIANS 2:19-22
What do these verses say about Jesus’s politics?
