This week’s readings are based on the “Chill” sermon series. For this series, we are looking at God’s command to rest and the implications this has on our lives. Start resting with God by slowing down, reading the text, and then letting it read you.

Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
God is at work in our lives, but are we paying attention? In his book Christ Following: 10 Signposts to Spirituality, author Trevor Hudson shares a spiritual formative exercise called “an examen of consciousness.” It involves taking 10 to 15 minutes a day to reflect on the following questions.
For what have I to be thankful? What strong moods have I experienced, and what attributes are beneath them? For what do I need to ask forgiveness? For what do I need God’s help and guidance tomorrow? Today, practice resting in reflection with these questions.
