Are You Living on Mission?

By

From Mac Lake, leadership expert and author of Northside’s 3-part leadership development curriculum:

Are you living on mission?

Living on mission isn’t just about setting goals. It’s about aligning your strengths, passions, and God’s unique calling for your life.

Why does this matter?

Because without clarity of purpose, it’s easy to drift—spending your days reacting instead of leading, striving instead of thriving. Many people feel stuck, exhausted, or uncertain, not because they lack ambition, but because they lack alignment.

When we live on mission, we’re no longer chasing after every opportunity or battling decision fatigue. Instead, we experience clarity and freedom—knowing where to focus our energy, what to say “yes” to, and what distractions to leave behind.

Living on mission helps us move forward with confidence and peace, making an impact that’s both intentional and lasting

3 Steps to Live on Mission

  • Identify Your Strengths. Reflect on the gifts and talents God has given you. How can you use them to serve others and glorify Him?
  • Recognize Your Passions. Pay attention to what excites and motivates you. Often, God places these desires in our hearts to guide us toward His purpose.
  • Align with God’s Purpose. Spend time in prayer and Scripture to ensure your mission aligns with His plan for your life.

"Living on mission brings clarity to every decision."
