MOVE WKND

Each year, we promote kids to their next grade or age-appropriate environment.

In 2023, moving to new environments happens in two phases because of the campus renovations and depending on the age/grade level of your child.

As a reminder, it's a good practice to double-check you child's sticker tag for their room number as they may have moved to a new environment. If you need assistance, find a Kidside Check-In Volunteer in the lobby.

Read below to find which weekend your child will be on the move:

AUGUST 5 & 6

In our Early Childhood Environments, we will be utilizing the child’s age and birthday to determine which classroom they will be in. Children will be promoted to the next classroom on their birthday. Here are how the rooms will be structured.

TODDLER ROOMS (18-23 MONTHS) will now be our Theater, Bakery, Soup Kitchen, and Town Hall classrooms.

2 YEAR OLDS will now be in Train Depot A, B, or C.

3 YEAR OLDS will now be in Fire Station A, B, or C.

4 YEAR OLDS will now be in Grocery Store A, B, or C.

CHILDREN THAT ARE 4 BY OR ON AUGUST 1 will move upstairs into our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms.

CURRENT KINDERGARTEN will move to Room 218. 

CURRENT 1ST GRADERS will move to Room 230. 

SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS

A new Special Needs Suite is currently being constructed in the former nursery area. Special Needs Kids who meet in the current Sensory Room in Discovertown will move to the new Special Needs Suite on a date to be determined later this summer.

MOVE WKND FAQs


Our first MOVE WKND happened on June 3 & 4. (See the schedule above.) Our next MOVE WKND is to be determined because of construction timeline. Check back here for details. Kids and students will attend the environment appropriate to the grade they will be moving into this fall.
Those who attend any Kidside environment from Nursery to 5th Grade are affected. Your child will automatically move up to the next grade level within our database, and check-in/pick-up procedures will adjust accordingly. The child most affected, however, will be the one changing ministries (e.g. 5th graders moving to NSM).
That is absolutely okay. Ultimately, what grade they are in our records does not have to follow their academic grade level. That's your decision. Since our records will automatically move them up, you will need to make the necessary changes on your child’s profile by following the steps below after May 29, 2023.

  • Select your icon in the top right hand corner and select My Profile.
  • Find the name of the child and select the pencil icon.
  • Make any necessary changes.
  • Select Save.
