Safety Precautions

Check In & Check Out

For our kids’ safety, we have a computerized check in system. Check in begins 30 minutes before each service. If

you are running late, you may check in at the info center in our lobby area.

Two Volunteer Rule

Our classrooms will open when two volunteers are present in each room. Parents may be asked to assist briefly as we await the arrival of volunteers from time to time. Thank you for helping to keep our kids safe.

Classroom Ratios

Class size is important to our children and volunteers. In order to provide quality care and a safe environment for all children, ratios of volunteers to children are balanced. Classrooms are closed when ratios are met in each age group.

Disciplinary Procedures

Volunteers are instructed to use timeout when necessary to help a child gain control over his/her behavior. If re-directing a child’s behavior or the timeout method does not resolve the situation, a parent will be contacted by placing the child’s security code on the screen in the auditorium. Parents are to come to the children’s info center in the lobby at that time.

Illness Policy

Please keep children at home or with you in church if they have symptoms of illness. We strive to create a happy, healthy place for everyone.

Emergency Procedures

Staff and volunteers have received the proper training to help children in emergency situations. You can rest assured that they are safe in our care in the case of fire, accident, severe weather, or intruders.

Snacks

Generic cheerios are the only snack served in the EC dept. Please inform a staff member if your child may not have them or in the event of special needs.

Sippy Cups

Due to food allergies, we ask that parents send water only in children’s sippy cups.
