Nursery, Toddlers & 2’s

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS: Are you expecting? Have you just had a baby? Let us know so we can connect with your family. Email us at brobertson@mynorthside.com.

WHAT TO BRING: Please provide only the necessary items for your baby when you check them into the nursery. Examples are a bottle, pacifier, and a diaper. These items can be placed into a small diaper bag which we provide for you. If you are new to Northside, please ask for one.

CAREGIVERS: We provide excellent childcare for our babies in our nursery area. Our desire is to love and pray for our babies so that they will begin to learn “God loves me” from our loving volunteers. Caregivers are background/reference checked and trained specifically to serve with our young children.

DIAPER CHANGING: Diaper changing is done with great care! Our caregivers wear vinyl gloves for each change and clean the changing area before and after each diaper change. Look for an “Inspected By” sticker on your child’s diaper which indicates when they were last checked.

TOY CLEANING: In order to keep our nursery safe, the toys in the nursery are cleaned following each worship service. Loving volunteers clean toys in our two & toddler area during the weekdays.

CRY ROOM: The cry room is a quiet place for parents to take their children when they are fussy or need to be fed. A TV is provided so parents can enjoy the worship service while tending to their children. You can find our cry room next to the coffee house area, across from the nursery.

CURRICULUM:

  • Nursery: We provide excellent childcare for our babies. Our desire is to love and pray for our babies so that they will begin to learn “God loves me” at an early age.
  • Toddlers: This group of steady walkers are taught the same Bible series for a three month period and the curriculum is entirely musical. Our volunteers are specifically trained to teach and reach this young group of Christ followers.
  • Two’s: This group of enthusiastic learners are taught the same Bible series for a one month period and the curriculum is mostly musical, which includes Sally and Sam, our special puppet friends. These children are also introduced to the practice of giving back to God, better known as “Jesus Money” in the EC area.

PROMOTION:

  • NURSERY: We love our babies before they are even born! Our nursery is designed for infants and crawlers who are not yet steady walkers. When children begin to walk steadily, we ask parents to move them to our toddler area for more age appropriate interaction and instruction.
  • TODDLER & TWOS: Our children’s ministry follows the birth date schedule of the New Albany-Floyd County school system. This means we use August 1 as the promotion date for which children are or are not moved up to the next age/grade level.

POTTY TRAINING: Realizing that potty training is a very important part of your child’s development, we ask that children complete the potty training process before reaching our three year old area.

SIPPY CUPS: Due to food allergies, we ask that parents send water only in children’s sippy cups.
